Vanessa Williams, 61, embraces her natural beauty and doesn’t mind a wrinkle or two. The actress and former Miss America—who won the coveted title in 1983—recently opened up about her relationship with cosmetic treatments, or rather, her lack thereof, in an interview with People.
Why Vanessa Williams Skips Botox and Fillers
“We were literally just talking about fillers, Botox, who’s had work, who hasn’t done work,” she told the outlet. “I have not gotten any… I don’t do fillers, I don’t do Botox anymore. The reason she skips these treatments is simple: she wants to look like herself. “I want people to know this face has lived,” she added. “That’s kind of where I am at this point, at 61.”

“Yeah, there’s some wrinkles,” Williams continued, “but that’s because I have sat out in the sun for too long. But I love the sun, dammit! If the sun is out, I will sit out in the sun and do my crossword and have a nice glass of wine. If that shows on my décolleté, too bad. I’m embracing my age.”
Williams’ philosophy on cosmetic treatments has evolved over the years. In 2018, she had a different stance on Botox, as told to NewBeauty. “If I’m doing anything on camera, I’ll do a Botox regimen to keep my face soft so that I don’t look like I have a perpetual frown,” she said when discussing her favorite treatments.

Vanessa Williams’ Inspiration
“I look at Diane von Furstenberg,” she told People, mentioning the fashion designer’s Hulu documentary, Diane von Furstenberg: Woman in Charge. “She was talking about embracing the wisdom and the age that you are,” Williams noted, highlighting what resonated with her from the film.
Vanessa Williams’ Wellness and Fitness Regimen
Even though Williams isn’t one for cosmetic treatments these days, she’s still prioritizing her skin care and health. She told the outlet that she loves microcurrent and nanocurrent technology, along with a host of other wellness treatments. “I do bio-identical hormones. I do testosterone, progesterone and estrogen,” she rattled off. “I do sublingual drops for liver, kidney, adrenal. I do stem cell under my tongue as well. So I’ve got all the tricks that keep me feeling good.”

As for fitness, she stays busy in that department, too. “I kick box, I lift weights, I cycle, I swim, I do whatever it takes.” The kicker? “I want to stay alive,” she bluntly concluded.
